Oil imports and gas price controls dominate IPAA meeting

Policy committees of the Independent Petroleum Association of America begin deliberations in Biloxi with 7000 members as debates focus on oil import procedures and federal control of wellhead gas prices. Resolutions aim to pressure Congress for relief and clarity on authority of the Federal Power Commission and Interior Department programs. The slump in drilling and exploration drives calls for a reversal. The Supreme Court ruling is a major pending issue for natural gas policy discussions.
