UIL Tightens Honors Rules For Coaches And Schools
The University Interscholastic League approves changes to its constitution. A new rule bars schools from league honors if a sponsor or coach accepts more than 200 from non school sources for directing league events. Exceptions include scholarships or retirement awards. Another rule bans awards for participation, allowing symbolic awards up to 3. A third change limits eligibility of transferring athletes to the sport they played previously for one year. Effective 1969 70 for some rules. others begin next September.
