Lubbock County Men Complete Anti-Aircraft Training
Two Lubbock County soldiers, Pvt. Lee R. Ralston and Pvt. J. D. Stringer, finished basic training at Fort Bliss Anti-Aircraft Replacement Training Center. Ralston, 21, inducted Nov 2, earned sharpshooter rifle rating and 40 mm anti-aircraft qualification. Stringer, 18, inducted Oct 26, also qualified as rifle sharpshooter and trained on 40 mm guns.

Bradshaw Separated From Army Air Forces at Tampa
Lt. Col. Fred D. Bradshaw of Lorenzo Texas has been relieved from active duty at the separation center in Ft McPherson Georgia. A 1941 Texas Tech graduate he trained as a pilot at Luke Field and served overseas with the 12th Bombardment Group in Africa Sicily and Italy from 1942 to 1943. He earned the Distinguished Flying Cross the Air Medal with seven oak leaf clusters and a Distinguished Unit Citation. At separation he was with the Air Inspector's division at Tactical Air Command HQ in Tampa Florida where his wife and young son David Arthur accompanied him.
