Texas Tech Dean of Women Resigns to Return to Teaching
Dr Florence Phillips dean of women at Texas Tech for 14 years resigns to teach full time in the psychology department. Tech President Grover E Murray praised her service and announced plans to appoint a replacement while Phillips begins an August 31 1968 transition to teaching research and travel.

Reports of Girl Airlifts Denied by Officials
An American Embassy spokesman and Thai authorities denied Saigon reports that Vietnamese girls were airlifted to U S bases in Thailand by 7th Air Force planes. They stressed no orders existed and embassy personnel could not ride military aircraft without authorization. Thai police also rejected claims the girls lived on the bases.
