Open House Set At LBJ Early Home In Johnson City
The unpretentious white frame house in Central Texas will be dedicated as a historic Texas landmark next week. Restored to its early 20th century condition, the Johnson family home is the boyhood residence of President Lyndon Baines Johnson. The Texas historical plaque will be placed on the front porch on the anniversary of Johnson’s 1937 congressional swearing in. The Johnsons and Bing Alexander of Fort Worth oversaw the restoration and will open the house to the public in the days ahead.
