Snake Bite Fatal For Area Boy

Adrian Salas six year old son of Mr and Mrs George Salas of Needmore community died at 1:30 PM Friday at West Plains Hospital after a rattlesnake bite. The child was bitten about 4:30 PM Thursday while playing near the Fred Hall place where his father works. He was hospitalized about 45 minutes after the bite.

Dust Storm Bakes West Texas With High Winds

A fast moving cold front swept across Texas Friday night kicking up dust from El Paso to the South Plains with winds to 70 mph. Visibility dropped to near zero in several towns including Monahans and Seminole while Lubbock reported gusts up to 38 mph. No major damage was reported though a storefront door blew out in El Paso and some antennas toppled in Denver City.
