Deaths From Accidents In Public Places Decline
The National Safety Council reports 1974 deaths in public places fell slightly to about 24,500, with drownings and certain transport fatalities down while falls and fires rose. Air transport deaths rose to 467 in 1974, private plane fatalities dropped, and motor vehicle deaths declined by 9,600 to roughly 46,200.
