Two Latin American men battered a drive in grocery in East Lubbock at 2522 Parkway around 9 20 p m Saturday taking 46 from the cash register. Night clerk Tony Garza hid in a cooler as gunman demanded money and the other struck him then ordered him to stay down.
Gene Anderson, president of Armstrong Transfer, Inc., enters the Place 2 council race in Lubbock. Lonnie Hollingsworth, a druggist, filed for Place 2. Mayor Rogers Jr. will decide soon on re election. Anderson, 48, longtime resident active in civic life. He served in the Army in the South Pacific during World War II.
