One hundred six American prisoners of war freed from North Vietnam arrived at Clark Field Philippines on three CL-41 jets. They appeared healthy, joyful, and hungry after years in captivity, with two Thai mercenaries and spies accompanying them. In Khartoum eight Palestinian guerrillas surrendered after a 60hour takeover of the Saudi embassy. Three diplomats were killed including U S Ambassador Cleo Noel and U S Charge d Affaires Curtis Moore. Bodies were brought out wrapped in burlap. Autopsies were performed and the attackers were reported dead as well. An official Nixon plane arrived with the diplomats' children and caskets.
