Park Administrator Fired by Texas Parks Board
The Texas Parks and Wildlife Commission voted 2-1 to fire acting executive director Robert G. Mauermann and replace him with Don D. Jones. Jones, a 30 year park planner, was named acting director in a 9:30 a.m. meeting and notified Mauermann by 2:15 p.m. Mauermann, with 33 years in the agency, will stay on the payroll until April 30. Charles Croslin was rehired as acting deputy director.
