Senate subcommittee moves to cite Daniels for contempt
A Senate subcommittee voted to recommend bringing Jonathan W. Daniels before the Senate on contempt charges over questions about the Rural Electrification Administration. The action targets Daniels after he refused to disclose if he was asked by the White House to resign REA head Harry Slattery. The move aims for a Senate trial rather than a court proceeding and follows ongoing disputes with the Roosevelt administration.
