A widely known Olton area farmer, Fred L. Bass Sr., 59, died in a pickup truck car crash at a rural intersection northeast of Olton. Four members of the Johnson family, E. W. Johnson of Rt. 4 Orton and his children Cynthia 7 and Stevie 5, were injured in the Saturday afternoon crash.
