Miss Marjorie Anne Conway and John Paul Comstock wed at the First Methodist Church chapel in Clovis New Mexico. The ceremony featured double ring rites performed by Rev James G Wayne with a bride gown of white organza over taffeta and a lace veil. Attendants included Mrs W E Chandler and Miss Susan Conway. A reception followed at the Conway home and the couple planned a honeymoon to Santa Fe New Mexico before settling in California.

Tech To Send Nine To Home Economics Meet In Denver
Nine Texas Tech School of Home Economics staff will attend the 51st annual American Home Economics Association meeting in Denver June 28 to July 1. Theme focuses on new explorations in home economics with two general sessions. Dean Willa Vaughn Tinsley serves on the nominating committee. others include Vivian Adams, Billie Williamson, Mina Lamb, Clara McPherson, Opal Wood, Gene Shelden, Lila Kinchen, and Mary Gerlach. Afterward Tinsley will teach six weeks of graduate courses at SUNY Plattsburgh Teachers College.

Budget increase sought for Texas blind rehabilitation
The State Commission for the Blind asked the Legislative Budget Board for 505000 dollars, about 44000 more than the current biennium, to expand rehabilitation services. Lon E. Alsup cited a backlog of about 400 people needing help and noted 375 blinds rehabilitated in early 1960 by 67 staff, aiming to assist 1000 at a time.

Houston wife says she knew her husband would stay with the crippled tanker SS George MacDonald. Captain Larry Burnthorn and two crewmen remained aboard after an Atlantic explosion off the South Carolina coast while others were rescued. Three Houston area crewmen, C. C. Foreman, O. M. Pearce, and Charles White, were aboard when the ship left Sinclair docks on June 23. Burnthorn began sailing after high school in Loranger and earned his master's license four years ago.
