Space Flight Budget Cut Tightens 1964 Moon Mission Plan
The House Space Committee cut 260 million from the manned space flight program for the next year, setting a 3.2 billion ceiling to fund two man earth orbits in 1964 and three man moon shots by 1970. NASA officials say the cut may cause delays. The panel also trimmed electronics center funds from five million to 3.9 million and requires a detailed site justification. Authorization depends on congressional approval or a 45 day waiting period.
