FBI Says Gun Aided Arrest in Evers Slaying

United States agents arrested Byron De La Beckwith in Greenwood Mississippi on a federal conspiracy charge linked to the June ambush slaying of Medgar Evers in Jackson. Beckwith, a White Citizens Council member, offered no resistance and faces arraignment soon with FBI tracing fingerprints and a Golden Hawk telescopic sight to the weapon. Fatal crash stalks funeral party in West Texas

A nineteen year old Linda Sue Jones of South Dakota died after a pickup truck crash near Idalou while returning from Floydada to attend her father’s funeral.
