Airport Fire-Rescue Building Set to Open in August

The Lubbock Regional Airport board heard the new fire and rescue building will be ready for operation in August. Taxiways are expected to be completed in September, two months behind schedule, as part of the airport's large construction program. Bids for two major projects were approved: H B Zachry for apron and taxiway work at the terminal site for 2 597 606 and Panhandle Construction Co for water and sewer upgrades at 359 949 75. Architect Bennett Reaves said costs remain near the budget with about 134 654 left for contingency.
