Kent Wildcat Drills In Kent County In West Texas
Esti Heyser Jr and associates of Dallas completed No 2 Lohman wildcat six miles west of Clairemont in central west Kent County Texas for an initial production of 430.88 barrels of oil with no water. The well lies 660 feet from the north and west lines of section 114, Block G, W and GN survey and is part of the Selt Creek Canyon field. It produced from Canyon Reef lime zones with acid treatments and open hole intervals, setting up possible follow up injections as the district shows further potential.

90 Area Scouts Set for Jamboree Camp at Reese AFB
A group of 90 Boy Scouts from South Plains towns and nine adult leaders arrive Wednesday night at Reese Air Force Base for a two day encampment. They will then ride Santa Fe and a special Scout train to the Second National Boy Scout Jamboree at Valley Forge Pennsylvania. About 47 000 Scouts nationwide and others will attend with 4 000 from the southwestern district. Eisenhower will speak during the jamboree and Truman will open the event. The Lubbock Kiwanis club assists with plans and travel arrangements.
