Woman Injured After Leaving Bus Near Lubbock
Mrs. William Thiel, 68, of six north of Lubbock, suffered a fractured pelvis and other injuries when she was sideswiped by a car as she stepped from a Texas New Mexico and Oklahoma bus. She was being treated at St. Mary's hospital. her condition was not believed serious. The incident occurred near the municipal airport as she headed home from Idaho, struck by a 1950 Oldsmobile driven by Tommy Applewhite of Cotton Center.

Flying Boat May Set New Passenger Mark
The Caroline Mars lifted off at 5 20 p m in Pearl Harbor carrying 144 men for a 2609 mile flight to California. Navy officials believe this could be a world record passenger load for the distance and the craft is the largest in the fleet. The Hawaii Mars followed two hours later with 106 aboard for a 2400 mile hop to Alameda setting the prior record of 120 passengers in 1946.

Two Tahoka men reported a robbery in the 100 block area last night when two men brandishing knives accosted them. Gerald Lewis lost 40 and Harvey Freeman 38 dollars after strangers talked then jumped them and demanded their money. Both suspects fled into the darkness, descriptions put them between 25 and 30. Break-ins were also reported with total losses under 50 dollars.
