Plainview 19th annual YMCA summer program begins with six week registrations at the American Legion Building. Fees are $10 for one child or $15 for families with optional $1.50 per child insurance. The ith annual rodeo in Lamesa starts at 4 p m with a downtown parade led by sheriff s posses and junior riding clubs. Rodeo performances begin at 8 p m and run through Saturday featuring calf roping bareback saddle bronc bull riding barrel racing and two new events junior pole bending and barrel racing. Judges include Lloyd Croslin Shorty Baker and Bill McThyane. The Lamesa Calf Ropers Club will award a saddle for the best average in roping. Kenneth Thomas of Midway last year s winner with Tom Roger as president and Frank Jones Jr as secretary.
