Army alumni receive honors and commissions at ceremony
In a cadet ceremony, 2nd Lt. James G. Cox, son of Mr. and Mrs. William P. Cox, earned the Francis Henry Schoeffel Memorial Award as captain of the 1969 Cadet Rifle Team before graduation from the United States Military Academy. Ronald W. Myres received Army aviator wings and a warrant officer appointment after graduation from Hunter Army Field. WAC Pvt. Enedlia Gutierrez completed eight weeks of basic training at Ft. McClellan. Jamen P. Long and Samuel G. Long were commissioned as second lieutenants in the U.S. Air Force after OTS at Lackland AFB and assigned to Shaw AFB.
