Quackery Problem Light In Lubbock

FDA inspectors Stanton Johnson and James Mowery say quackery is not a regional crisis but swindlers target Lubbock residents. They describe alfalfa tablets with radium claims, copper-wired fruit protection, and “free vacation” promotions, noting limited FDA reach and BBB efforts to educate the public. Johnson warns rural areas remain vulnerable while BBB’s Factline aids public awareness.
