Legislature ends session with productivity noted by Rep. McAlister
Rep. R B McAlister of Lubbock says the 62nd Legislature was productive despite a redistricting logjam and stock deal cloud. He cites liquor-by-the-drink passage, church funding in tuition equalization, and a new state regulatory body for business schools as key outcomes while warning West Texas must bolster its metropolitan standing.

The South Plains experienced clear skies and warm, muggy conditions Friday as Gulf air kept clouds and moisture in the state.
