Pfc Turner Kimmel son of Mr and Mrs R V Kimmel of 2405 Twentieth is home on a 30 day furlough from Torney General hospital at Palm Springs California after eight months overseas. He fractured his right foot jumping from a burning house window after German shells hit a French village where his unit had billets. He joined the Army in 1942 from Texas Tech where he was a Silver Key member.
