Two Fishermen Drown Near Perryton After Torrential Rains
Two fishermen Ben H. Davis and Gene Noble Smith were found drowned in a water filled pickup south east of Perryton Texas. The 74 and 48 year old Booker residents were believed drowned when the pickup veered into a water filled ravine along Wolfe Creek after heavy rains. Coroner Hardy Hulsey said they died by drowning. Sheriff's deputies suspect the driver fell asleep or was blinded by rain. Camping gear near the overturned truck suggested a fishing trip.
