D. D. Peters, 46, of 1513 Thirty Second, sustained second and third degree burns over about 30 percent of his body when a fire swept his residence. He was treated at Abbock Memorial hospital in fairly good condition after ambulances rushed him from the scene. The blaze, likely fed by fumes from a gasoline wash, gutted nearly the entire house before firefighters stopped it.

Five year old Terry Lynn Autry of 3005 Colgate Avenue was hit by a westbound car driven by P B Cannon of Littlefield about 9 30 p m Saturday in the 3000 block of Colgate Avenue. He suffered multiple bruises and a possible kidney injury and was taken to St Marys Hospital where his condition was listed as fairly good. Officers charged Cannon with negligent collision for driving without lights and having no license on his person. A passing motorist, L L Russell, transported the boy to the hospital.

Pete Moncrief a 25 year old Lubbock man was charged with felony theft and held on $2000 bond after alleged theft of four cases of cigarettes from C E Osborn on July 16.
