Speck Believed To Have Heart Attack Before Confrontation

Chicago doctors said Richard Speck may have suffered a heart attack before facing survivor Corazon Amarao in the jail hospital. Dr. William Norcross ordered complete rest and no interviews for 48 hours as Speck could not be moved. The survivor reportedly identified Speck, but confirmation remained unclear.

Guardsmen Called In As Cleveland Riots Escalate

Governor Rhodes declared a state of emergency in Cleveland after a second night of rioting in the Hough area. National Guard units were deployed to patrol streets as gunfire wounded two and a 36 year old man, Percy Giles, was killed. Over 100 arrested as looting and fires broke out. police reported snipers and Molotov cocktails, with Guardsmen aiding the response.

Finals in Lubbock junior invitational play today

The finals of the Lubbock country club junior invitational golf tournament unfold today with the event expected to attract local youth players and spectators to the course. Lubbock Sees Glowing Report On Lake Meredith Water

A Lubbock group toured Sanford Dam and Lake Meredith as C Q Crane of the Canadian River Municipal Water Authority projected water reaching Lubbock by New Year’s Day with firm deliveries by January 1 1968. The trip drew about 75 business leaders amid reports the aqueduct would be 15 miles from completion by late July and weather conditions could affect flows. The dam’s lake level was then at a historic low with zero flow recorded in the Canadian River.

Sinatra Marries Mia Farrow in Las Vegas Ceremony

Fifty year old Frank Sinatra and twenty one year old Mia Farrow wed Tuesday night at the Sands Hotel home of Jack Entratter. New Yorker Helped After Banana Peel Fall

Defense Bill Okay Seen Advances Toward Lopsided Approval
