Officials highlight brake safety in Derby car building. The aircraft carrier Constellation, site of a December fire that killed 50, is moved from drydock at the Brooklyn Navy Yard to a refitting pier. Capt. James Brown, the Navy production officer aboard, called the move appropriate for the construction schedule as the vessel nears resumed work.
AP reports actor Rod Cameron has wed his former mother in law Dorothy Alves Licol. The Herald Express cites Cameron and Dorothy as quietly married after years apart from his ex wife Angela. Cameron aged 50 and Angela 33 divorced in 1954 while Alves Licol 58 was previously divorced from Antonio Alves Lica in 1957.
