Advisory committee formed on city school tax reappraisal
A 21 member advisory group of Lubbock business leaders meets at 10 a.m. in City Hall to study the city and school district tax reappraisal. Chairman E W Williams Jr leads the panel formed after a joint meeting of the City Council and school trustees with about 50 businessmen. The group will advise the tax assessor and will exist until the outside revaluation is referred to the equalization board. Industrial Use Okayed in Lub bock Zoning Debate

Longtime Scurry Resident Killed in One-Car Crash
I V Lewis, 62, longtime Scurry County resident, died in a one car crash 15 miles north of Big Spring on State Hwy 350 around 6 30 p m Thursday. The car left the highway struck a bar ditch rolled several times then landed right side up. He died at the scene. Survivors include a sister Mrs Eva Ross Hope Ark and four brothers Hartley Pete Snyder Brice and Charles. Services are pending at Bolger Funeral Home in Snyder.
