Hijacker von George dies after failed ransom plot
Heinrich von George, a 4 year old father of seven, hijacked Mohawk Airlines Flight 452 from Albany to LaGuardia, later killed by an FBI agent near Dutchess County. The stewardess Eileen McAllister, 35, survived the ordeal. The hijacker’s ransom plan collapsed as he was killed during a fleeing attempt with the $200,000 in cash.
