Airmen Questioned in South Plains Armed Robberies
Reese AFB airmen were arrested on suspicion of 17 armed holdups over two months across the South Plains. A/2C Roger Lindblad, 21, admitted to taking part in a Sunday drive in grocery store holdup but said he did not use the gun. Investigators recovered a .22 pistol, money, tape, and items tying suspects to other robberies. Police arrested three airmen at the base and later detained two more in a hangar where they work as aircraft mechanics. An anonymous tip aided the case as detectives linked several recovered items to the spate of robberies, with further investigations into possible ties to other incidents ongoing.
