Devonian Gas Discovery Complete North of Monument

Gulf Oil Corp reports a Devonian gas discovery 12 miles north and 660 feet from west of Monument in Leaflines Section 32-20s-36. New Producer J. B. Pumphrey third producer in Stonewall County. Output 14.5 million cubic feet per day with 18 barrels water per 24 hours, gas oil ratio 340 to 1. Location details given for the AB&M survey area.

Lubbock Trustees View Final Plans for Smylie Wilson Addition

Lubbock school trustees will review final plans for a 200 student addition to Smylie Wilson Junior High School in a 5 15 p m special meeting. The project, part of a $5 6 million bond, adds about 11 000 sq ft with eight classrooms and a new library, cost about 160 000, and should finish in six to eight months.
