Police estimated an Arab force of about 100 men laid siege to a Jewish settlement. Maj Nicholas Andronovich, military attaché, was injured after his horse was shot while riding a bridle path.

Tankers waited in harbor for loadings to begin at 8 a.m. tomorrow.

The city considers establishing a special assessment district to finance the right of way for rerouting Avenue A in East Tub. Mayor C. A. Bestwick and Attorney Vaughn Wilson are named in the plan.
