Visit by Navy student Leon Blair to parents in Dallas
Leon Blair son of Mr and Mrs G W Blair 2407 Tenth street spends the weekend with his parents. He trains in naval aviation at Grand Prairie and leaves March 1 for Corpus Christi Naval air station for advanced training. Blair a 1940 Texas Tech graduate and former UT law student enlisted in the Navy last October. He belonged to Samba Chi Alpha and won a 1941 pledge award for outstanding service. He majored in government and assisted in the government department.

Ten year old Betty Pauline Kil mer brightened the La Fiesta de Los Vaqueros parade in Tucson with a miniature prairie schooner pulled by cocker spaniels. Her wagon bore the slogan Use Your Dogs and Save Rubber on both sides.

Army Air Corps Flight Loss Remains in Lubbock Area
In a letter from Mrs Temple El Ns of 2482 Twentieth street Lubbock young Hall of Texas Technological College described a night cross country flight from Lake Field Arizona to El Paso. 46 planes started 20 turned back four crashed with one bailing out. Hall to graduate March 6 from advanced fixing school and has brothers in the service. J D Warlick at Goodfellow field was made air mechanic second class. Laney promoted to sergeant at the Air Corps Gunnery School in Las Vegas Nevada. Williams stationed at Moorefield Texas as intelligence officer. Two Lubbock boys visiting on furlough before reporting to Goodfellow for flight training. Promotions include Hough Shirey Spence Dunn Robertson Bailey Waldrip McCampbell Reed Humphries Gilliland Minor and others across fields in Texas and New Mexico.
