Bogus money seized in Los Angeles counterfeiting ring
Police arrested three men and a woman in a $1 million counterfeiting ring that printed fake $10, $20 and $100 bills and sold them for $15 per $100. Authorities say most activity was on the West Coast with wider distribution nationwide. Two suspects were nabbed after a $50,000 sale tipped police. $1 million in cash and narcotics were found in a nearby apartment. Charged were Lynwood Johnson age 34 and Eddie Moore alias Jesse Watkins age 40, both of Los Angeles, plus a third unidentified man. Moore's wife Elizabeth, 38, was questioned and released. Printing presses and plates not recovered.

Communists Break Tet Cease Fire With Helicopter Downings
The Viet Cong and Communist forces violated the Tet truce as three U S helicopters were shot down near the Cambodian border about 56 miles northwest of Saigon, killing five Americans and wounding others.
