Hoodlums under 18 blamed for stifling business and insurance cancellations.
Prosecution witnesses in the Clay Shaw conspiracy trial say they saw two men with a gun in a window and Oswald being driven away by a swarthy man after Kennedy's death. Texas witnesses testify that Garrison aims to prove a conspiratorial crossfire, challenging the Warren Commission conclusion of Oswald's sole murder. Judge Halleck granted access to Kennedy autopsy materials, while Wecht may testify. autopsy photos and items will go to New Orleans. The autopsy itself and X rays will not be entered as evidence.

A violent storm and high tides stranded about 500 residents in the Linton Odem area of Texas. One shrimp boat crewman drowned and four others were missing as water rose to near Beulah flood levels. A school building was opened to shelter the evacuees.
Residents fled on Friday by boat and army trucks. Families moved furniture and vehicles to ready positions as waters rose. County records were moved from the courthouse basement to the first floor. Hurricane Beulah caused five feet of basement flooding and set a new record in the area. High tides worsened conditions.
