The State College Coordinating Board proposed boosting higher education funding to 429.1 million for 1967 69 and restricting doctoral programs to the University of Texas Texas A&M University Texas Technological College and the University of Houston with two or three additional institutions serving select programs for the Dallas Fort Worth area. It also set Sept 1 1968 as the deadline to terminate all other state doctoral programs while North Texas State University and Texas Woman's University may continue existing programs.
Widows of three fishermen file damage claims totaling 2.265 million in 70th District Court against Paul Eric Krueger and his parents alleging negligence for not informing authorities about the son’s disappearance with a car and rifles on April 9, 1965. The suits name Dr and Mrs Richard Krueger of Orange County California and list claims by Mrs Joel D.
