Washington AP In a Sunday statement the Nixon administration’s Committee on Interest and Dividends denounced a four range banks rise in the prime lending rate to 6 1 4 per cent from 6 per cent and asked banks for full cost and earnings data. The panel convenes experts to monitor lending costs and notes higher funds costs should not unduly shift rates.

Two Climbers Feared Dead on Mt Aconcagua Ascent

In Mendoza Argentina UPI reports two American climbers Jeanette Johnson 30 and John Cooper 35 were feared dead after descending from Mt Aconcagua Latin America's highest peak. Patrol teams searched for their bodies while survivors said they were found immobile at the glacier base. Cooper formerly worked for NASA.

Ten skiers killed in Alpine avalanche in Tirol

An avalanche on Kirch Spitze in Tirol buried a 25 man Bavarian ski party from the Oberwirt Gerlos hotel. Medivac Planes Ready To Launch POW Airlift

UPI reports American aircraft stood by on one hour's notice as Saigon signaled the first group of American prisoners of war would be released within three or four days. Officials at Clark Air Base north of Manila projected medical exams before the 16 hour flight home. The operation uses Nightingale ambulances and Starlifters with a two to three hour flight time to Hanoi route, and Lt Col James E Warren spoke proudly of the mission.
