Second in 12 hours probe pushed in 300 robbery
Detectives probed a Carpet City store robbery at 2828 34th St in which two Black men forced the assistant manager into an alley and escaped with about 300 dollars. Eldon Howland, 48, was charged with robbery by firearms in a separate downtown hijacking of a cashier at Piccadilly Cafeteria around 8 p.m. Wednesday. The Carpet City victim Alton Stanford, 33, recalled being locked in the alley and unable to see the suspects’ arrival or departure as they searched for a radio. The incident followed another robbery in the city within 12 hours.
