Tire inspection added to checks in Texas

AUSTIN AP Cars entering annual inspections after January 1 will face tire checks for the first time. Vehicles with tread under one sixteenth of an inch or exposed ply or cord will fail the state mandated inspection. Temporary repairs or large cuts and cracks will also disqualify a car.
