U S denies Hanoi bombing inside city limits

U S military headquarters said no bombs fell in Hanoi during the December air raids. County approves four story courthouse annex contract

W G McMillan Construction Co of Lubbock wins the bid for a four story addition to the Lubbock courthouse with a base bid of 829338, undercutting the architect estimate. The award follows an unanimous vote by the four commissioners using Option 2 to allow office switch deductions, and work starts early next week with completion in 4400 calendar days and sealing of the existing courthouse facade.

Cold Front Brings Near Hurricane Winds to South Plains

A Pacific cold front slammed into the state with winds up to 72 mph in Farwell causing near zero visibility. Clovis saw gusts and sharp temperature drops while Lubbock reported cloudy skies and eight mile visibility. Temperatures were forecast to fall to the low 20s then warm toward 50 before another drop.
