Grain truck wreck kills driver near Cameron
A loaded grain truck overturned and burned near Cameron injuring and killing driver A. H. Cline, 42, of Lubbock. He left Lubbock Sunday for Houston with a grain load. He died at the scene as flames consumed the vehicle after it left the highway six miles south of Cameron on Highway 36. Funeral arrangements were set for Tuesday at First Cumberland Presbyterian Church with burial in Tech Memorial Park.

Dallas Slaying Likely Robbery Motive
A 53 year old woman was found slain in her Dallas home with a near decapitation. Charley Butler 52, a water department employee, came home from work to discover the body. Ennis High Coach Not Renewed Sparks Student Strike
About three fourths of Ennis High students stayed home in protest after the school board decided not to rehire head football coach Dave Ryan. Superintendent J F Gardner said the walkout followed trouble beginning Friday with damaged windows at officials’ homes and businesses. Four Dead In Kentucky Fire
In Earlington Kentucky a family tragedy left four dead as a fire gutted the front portion of a five room home. Willard Fox and 14 year old Stevie Rodgers were found in the living room while Beatrice Fox and Kayla Rodgers were found in the kitchen. Coroner S T Harris said the four likely suffocated though the girl and grandmother had minor burns. A neighbor alerted firemen after seeing a flicker of light around 4 a m amid 15 degree temperatures. The children's parents Carl and Mrs Rodgers also reside in Earlington.

Bandit Executed in Florida for 1953 Slaying
Samuel Hornbeck, 36, a Jacksonville area felon known as a jail breaker and robber, was executed in the Florida electric chair at Raiford. He died for the 1953 killing of a Jacksonville police officer, who was reportedly shot by another person.
