Youth Held For Aiding Escape From Anson Jail

Anson jail authorities detained a local youth who aided three men in escaping the Anson jail before dawn Monday. The fugitives included Gerald David Knight, 32, awaiting trial on abduction and rape in Dallas, and two others charged with burglary and swindling. Police say the youth and a friend slit an unbarred window, unlocked the jailer’s office, and used jail keys found there, tying them to a string lowered from a second floor cell.
