Polariscope Balloon Flight Planned Over West Texas Area

Weather permitting a Polariscope balloon will lift off from Litchfield Park Naval Air Station near Phoenix and may cross over West Texas and possibly Lubbock. Balloon program targets ultraviolet study of planets and moon

The Polariscope program, sponsored by NSF and NASA, aims to obtain ultra violet photopolarimetry of planetary atmospheres and moon photographs to deduce atmospheric gas content.
