Trial for Coed’s Murder Begins
Ervin Faye Stewart a 37 year old Arizona convict from Denver will face trial Monday in Phoenix on murder charges for killing Jane Langdon a 21 year old Texan Christian University coed Langdon was found March 23 1963 in a Phoenix mine shaft two days after she disappeared with her parents Judge Jack Langdon of the Texas Court of Appeals and his wife were with her. The defense filed an affidavit of bias and prejudice against the Superior Court with Judges Kenneth C Chatwin and Val Cordova to preside. Stewart was serving a four to six year term for grand theft when charged August 6 with the fatal shooting of Langdon.
