Bennet Cerf a cofounder of Random House and famed pun loving panelist on Whats My Line died at his Westchester home after collapsing late Friday night. He was 73 and had recently left Northern Westchester Hospital. His career spanned four decades guiding a prestige list of authors and he gained fame from lectures columns humor anthologies and television appearances. Born May 25 1898 in New York City Cerf was a Columbia College graduate and editor of The Jester before serving in World War I and completing his A B.
