Campbell Soup Co recalls from 16 states all chicken vegetable soup packed at its Paris Texas plant after botulism contamination found. FDA earlier ordered recall of Bon Vivant soups sauces and stews after a vichyssoise linked to a death. No related Campbell illness reported. Ky withdraws from South Vietnam presidential race

Vice President Nguyen Cao Ky announced he will stay out of the October 3 election leaving President Nguyen Van Thieu as the sole candidate.
