Blasts Kill Nine At Manila Rally

Terrorist blasts struck a crowded speakers platform at a downtown Manila political rally Saturday night killing nine and wounding scores. In San Quentin California three guards and three convicts died in a chaotic escape attempt. Among the dead is Soledad Brother George Jackson shot by a guard in a gun tower. two white convicts were killed after their throats were slit during the breakout.

Inmate Escape Attempt Ends in Slayings at Prison

In a carefully planned breakout about 20 inmates flooded the cellblock floor at the adjustment center. Ruchell Magee was named among those loose, with three white inmates killed and three guards knifed. Officials said the attack was motivated by outside revolutionary rhetoric and that the incident ended about 20 minutes after it began.

The Nix Greene family believes tattered cloth found near Odessa may connect to Sue Greene's disappearance. Sheriff’s deputies discarded the fabric after determining no link. Capt. Elton Faught recalled Sue wore a brown dress with gold buttons the day she vanished.

Back to School Time in Lubbock as New Year Opens
