Court Says Boys Must Leave U S For Russia

Four Kosmin brothers aged 12, 11, 10, and 3 must be restored to their parents in Russia by Oct. 1, after a two year custody dispute. Judge Thomas E. Kluczynski ruled the boys, raised in Chicago since their parents returned to the Soviet Union in 1957, have expressed longing to belong with their natural family, despite language and homeland differences.

Crank Blamed as Solon Attacked in Sulfuric Acid Incident

Rep. Frank Thompson of New Jersey says a truck driver and a passenger splashed him with a sulfuric acid liquid as he waited at a Capitol Hill traffic light. Police identified the fluid and noted two white men were inside the truck. Thompson, uninjured and not requiring medical care, suggested the assault may reflect labor control disputes linked to his work in Congress. The incident occurred Tuesday morning while he drove from his home in Alexandria to the Capitol.

First 1959 Lynn County cotton bale ginned near Wells

Arlys Askew harvested the first 1959 cotton bale in Lynn County one mile north of Wells. Ginned at Farmers Cooperative Gin, the bale weighed 470 pounds after 2,340 pounds of seed cotton, with 880 pounds seed and 32 acres. It was unloaded at First National Bank and may be auctioned Saturday. The To hoka Chamber of Commerce sponsors the sale and premium, marking a one day later start than 1958.
