House Group Okays Across the Board Tax Cuts
The House Ways and Means Committee approved Kennedy’s tax revision plan calling for across the board income tax cuts from Jan 1 1964. Individuals would average about 20 percent and most brackets 19 percent while corporate tax drops to 48 percent by 1965. A new minimum standard deduction would remove about 1.5 million low income filers from the rolls.

A sports car convertible overturned four miles west of Enoch on FM 54. Braum Ruby, 21, of Montreal, died en route to Morton hospital. Bernie Silvertone, 19, also of Quebec, survived with abrasions.
