Abernathy resident Marie N. Enjan recently finished typing and clerical training at the Women's Army Corps School in Fort McClellan Alabama after enlisting last March. Other local service members include Pvt. Marion Bowden and Lt. John Gilbreath who completed training and officer basic courses at Forts Ord and Knox respectively. Cider handed to foreign visitors in Basel as Swiss fruit campaign promotion.

Amarillo Pastor Named To Fill Methodist Post
The Rev. J Weldon Butler of Amarillo was named executive secretary of the Board of Education for the Northwest Texas Conference of the Methodist Church. Butler, seven years at St. Paul Methodist Church in Amarillo, takes office Aug. 15 succeeding Rev. Charles Lutrick. He previously led Vega and directed the Wesley Foundation at West Texas State College. The conference HQ is in Lubbock at 172 Ave. Butler and his wife have three children.
